Yes, the wood is original. It is glued? Maybe clipped to the defrostor vents? There is also a curved cut toward the windshield. Looks like it might be for expansion? Not sure but it's rather interesting the detail they went to.

All of your paper work sounds interesting. I have the pink card, and all of the orginal books. The owner sent all of the paper work from repairs he had done to the car over the years, so it's pretty well documented. I am amazed at the originality of this car. That's the main reason I bought it.

It has been a lot of work, but also alot fun getting it going. The other nice thing is you can still get 4 doors cheap, and in nice condition.
