Question 1995 s320 w140 - power steering and shocks questions

Hello,

Car: w140 1995 s320 with 300k miles.

I'm intermediate with DIY, probably erring on the side of begginer. I've got a 1984 300sd which I've toyed around with, done some basic stuff. W140 stuff so far has included replacing dash lights, all the air filters, oil+filter change, amp replacement, repair of passenger headrest movement, and removal of the headlights to clean up and/or replace the front covers. The w126 has included dash lights, fuel and oil filters, oil change, power steering flush, coolant flush, and the diesel purge (just for laughs). None of these were hard - the headlight thing was probably most complicated, lots of stuff to take apart. But I ended up with no left over parts, yay!

My ultimate question is, whether or not I might be up to the task of a few additional maintenance/repair items.

Per my trusted mechanic, the power steering hose (I think he said pressure hose, I don't have the paperwork on me at the moment) and pump both leak. I would assume the hose is easy, but guess the pump will require to be dismantled and a "sealant kit" with grommets/gaskets replacing may be more difficult?? Searching the forum did not reveal much info specific to this model.

Also, I was told both front and rear shocks are near the end of their lives. I found an article in the wiki here for front shock replacements, and it seems doable?? How about the rears? I went to fastlane, and it appears there are several types of shocks, including self leveling, etc - how will I know which ones I need?

I don't know much about shocks. Are there bushings/bearings that can be replaced, or do I need to swap out the whole thing?

I have a few other questions, but will save those for later.

Thank you for your time.
