I found my EGR forward of the air filter housing and about even with the front of the valve cover on the engine. Kind of tucked in between the two and up within easy reach. Mine is a grey market car however and might difer from yours.
Pop the hose off it and put a screw into the end of the hose and plug the metal valve that the hose was on. I just duct taped it because I didn't know what I was doing. Still holding one year later.

I want to encourage you in the fact that these are simply mechanical and will respond to therapy. It is amazing to see them respond

Don't forget that ALDA adjustment. Sounds hard but all you do is cut away the protective cover, loosen the lock nut and adjust the bolt in 1/4 turns. Test drive after every 1/4 turn. As with most things, there are comprehensive posts on these subjects. Just do the search, print out the sheet and go get oil on it
