Closely check the moulded plug that attatches to the bulb! On my SDL the wiring had gotten very hot and melted and burned the plastic compound, it had not shorted but a close examination showed the wires had probably moved within the molten plastic and where almost touching! I replaced both as the second one showed signs of overheating also.
