No idea how or where to check those other components.

On another note. As I was performing my backyard coolant flush procedure, I had the top radiator hose disconnected from the radiator.

I let the engine reach full operating temp...which was about 82C according to the temp guage.

At this point, coolant was flowing out of the top radiator hose at about the same rate as if you were pouring drink out of a soda can.....I was replenishing the coolant with hose water while doing this.

I've never actually seen the coolant flow on any other car so I have no basis for comparison. Does this flow rate sound right?
