Smoking M115 from my friend's '74 200

guys,

My friend called me at 8am Sunday and asked me to come over his place and needs my help with his '74 200, after that, I took a light breakfast and grab my keys and drive up my '66 200 to his place, as I arrived and pulled up right behind his car outside his house, and I start his car and as soon as the engine fires up, I looked back and I saw bit thick bluish smoke at cold start-up, the idle was perfect, as the engines warms up, at around 80C the smoke becomes a light-blue haze at idle but giving some gas, a nasty thick blue smoke from behind , and I shut it off.

We talked about his car as we waited for the engine to cool down, he said that his engine was recently rebuilt and as I visual inspect his engine that the rebuilt was neat, no leaks anywhere, as the engine was cool enough to crack open the spark plugs, the plugs were not oily, it was brownish just like as normal, all 4 of them then I get back to my car to get my long flat screwdriver and I poked through the plug hole to reach the pistons and I gently scrape off the top of it. As I pull the screwdriver up and looked up and wiped the tip with my fingers, as I spread it was oily along some carbon dirt in it.

I told my friend to take your car back to your mechanic who built it, tell him your complaint and he'll be sure to take care of it. As for me, I think it was the piston rings installed in wrong position, I don't know , so what do you think guys? Did I miss something here?
