Don't be too hard on the Lucas folks - on my '77 Jag XJ6 all the electrical problems have been in the wiring modifications made to import the car to the US. I would like to personally award a Rube Goldberg medal to whomever designed the electro-mechanical climate control system, however! It DOES still work, but it's motorial gyrations have to be heard to be believed.
