In reply to haasman, my MPG has gone up somewhat, but not a lot. I DO have a good bit more power than before, of course. Your theory makes as much sense as anything else.

To the request for the repair price: The labor was $207 (about 3 hours) and the injectors were about $31 each (shop price). Of course, the valve seals would have been 300 or so and the valve job would have been 2,000. I'd say I got a pretty good deal if my oil usage stays at zero.
