Yeah, I wish I could weld too ... I'm sure I could learn to do some basic jobs, just haven't had time (and really don't have a good place to do it). I'd search around for a while to see if you can find someone to do the bodywork at a good price. I think the big thing you want to worry about, beyond just having it look nice, is that there isn't any paint damage that leaves it vulnerable to rust. One compromised area in the paint that isn't fixed up correctly can lead to a never-ending rust battle.
