Stupid question

Who said there are no stupid questions? I even know the answer, so I'll ask in a different way..

My clutch is slipping, and no amount of bleeding, adjusting, or checking things has changed that. (but it is suspicious that is doesn't slip in the morning when its cool, but slips just fine when its warmed up)

The question is about the pressure plate.

Does everyone always replace them when doing a clutch disk, or are they so well built that only the disk typically needs replacing?

Patient is a '79 240D w/ 130k showing.
Either way, I'll be doing seals, disk, and T.O. bearing.

Yeah, I know.. its 30 years old.. live it up.
Its only money..
Nevermind.. I'll replace it.

But if people start writing in saying stuff like, "Ya know, I've replaced hunnerds of those 240 clutches, and I've never seen a bad pressure plate yet.", I might just reconsider..
but it is 30 years old..
