I've left my EGR intact because I'd like to keep my environmental footprint small, and the difference in performance isn't important enough to me. If the fuel economy were significantly different I might reconsider... trading less CO2 against more NOx.

I got about 6 mpg difference and i tested all the parts seemed to be all functioning and setup right tho. I just wonder how much volume of exhaust it actually adds and if it equally gets distributed with how the egr valve dumps it in the front like it does? In 1982 did they even have Nox restrictions in USA? I'd assume if they did vw would of had that mess on they'res?
