The ivory '82 AT 240D, with manual sunroof and power windows I bought two years ago, on my 50th birthday.
(Or as some smart-alec commented "For yor 50th, instead of a walker or wheelchair, you got a 240D!")
$225, including the rusty floors and a broken trailing arm, but it had nice paint and 4 new Michelins, so I basically paid for the tires and got the car for free!
Fixed the suspension and numerous other flaws, patched the floors, and added some decent seats. Slow but not that bad - the perfect lazy-man's car.

Happy Motoring, Mark
