I don't know the 96-99 E300D plumbing, I hear it's mad complicated. Hit frybrid.com regarding this, Chris or VinDiesel will prolly have a clue.


Some guesses:
Turn off the frybrid. Get it started on D2, let is sit overnite.
Cold start on D2, drive around on D2, hot start on D2, warm start on D2.

If it behaves on D2, I would look for an air leak causing you to lose prime on the diesel supply line, maybe at the supply valve. If A FEW psi of air in the diesel tank fixes this, that would support the hunch.
