I have one with with 163k miles on it with a transmission for $800. It's from an 85 300D. OM617 with a turbo. Runs perfect. Had a valve job, glow plug job, turbo cleaning job and all that before it came out of the car.
I'm in Chicago...for a perfect engine and transmission i dont think $800 could be beat.
