4400rev/min*1.5L/rev = 6600L/min = 233cfm

However, the engine is turbocharged, and volumetric efficiency is not 100%. So at 1bar boost the pressure ratio is 2. Using a formula from the internets:

CFM = (L*RPM*VE*Pr)/5660 for VE = 85%, Pr = 2 gives

CFM = about 400.

So 400cfm at 15psi boost is whats required at max rpm on an OM617. More doesn't hurt except for creating a little more lag, less will provide a restriction. Double check that formula too, I don't know if its right.
