For more than 30 years Mercedes-Benz has installed catalytic converters in its passenger cars. With the C250 BluetTEC the environment-friendly BlueTEC-technology finds its way into the four-cylinder-models. They were first utilized in the E-Class of the 1980s – and have been continuously developed ever since. With the 190D the exhaust systems also entered diesel technology. The C250 BlueTEC prototype currently represents the latest stage of development of this responsible tradition.
