Final preparations for probably the most unusual expedition ship of the present day. The 35 meter long PANGAEA will spend the next four years on an expedition around the globe. On the way to its next destination after New York the PANGAEA has to prove that all of its equipment functions perfectly. The first leg of the 100,000 kilometer expedition takes the ship and its crew to Antarctica. Here even the smallest problem can become a life-endangering threat.
