I almost wanted to do that with the 3.8 V6 out of my friend's old Taurus. It was knocking really bad so we changed the engine out and for a while didn't know what to do with the bad one. Unfortunately it was his only car so we needed to get it done and not play games
Driving it to the place we changed it out was nerve wracking (he lives in an apartment so no garage)...I followed him in the truck with a tow strap handy just in case. You could hear the knock inside the truck it was so bad
