I just had my clutch replaced by a mechanic. Would they have had to disconnect the throttle linkages to do this?

It seems like acceleration is not as good as it used to be (I know - "what acceleration???" ), particularly in 3rd and 4th gear on the freeway - flooring it is necessary just to keep up on a mild hill in 40-50MPH traffic.

I don't remember it being like that. I could be wrong though as it has been several months since I have driven the car.
