First - adjust your linkages per the Factory Service Manual article. As part of this procedure you need to re-set your bowden cable - its a white nut on top of the valve cover that tells the trans when to shift. Yours is off somehow.

Second - I second the banjo bolt cleaning suggestion.

Also, verify the the turbo boost line is connected.

On my 85 when I bought it, owner said the car had no power. Found a broken boost line...reconnected...power was back
