Pulled the shift linkage bushing out on the 220d with manual tranny. It was clear that the bushing was gone, dried out and broken on the end.

In a previous post no one had any solid advice on how to access it, so I pulled the console out and there it was! MB wanted 50 bucks for the assembly, but all I needed was the bushing. Went to the local hardware (real hardware store) and found a chair end cap that fit perfectly.

For 2 bucks the thing is fixed and perfect.
