Avoiding heat soak seems like a perfectly reasonalbe thing to do in hot weather. When you stop running in hot weather all the air flowing normally will stop and the heat captured in the exhaust system and cooling system is trapped with noplace to go excpet soak into the rubber parts etc.

I do it especailly when I am on the road in the summer towing my trailer, but when just driving too.
