How Come?

Along with all the other beautiful people on Martha’s Vineyard, Barack and Michelle share the 28 acre $35,000 a week estate with among others his sister Maya and her husband. The one person who could really use a vacation like that is none other than Zeituni Onyango, the aunt so affectionately described in Mr. Obama’s best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father, still living on the taxpayer dime in public housing in South Boston on Flaherty Way. Is that any way to treat your long lost relative? How come she couldn’t be flown over in Marine One for a goat roast or something, for old time’s sake! How come no one told Auntie? She could probably watch Marine One as it flies by tonight!
Obama and Michelle are traveling to Boston late Friday in anticipation of his eulogy of Ted Kennedy at the funeral Saturday; maybe they’re staying with her for the night. After all Flaherty Way in South Boston is only 3.2 miles and 11 minutes away according to Google Maps!
