It moves a lot of air so I don't know if I would call it
quiet but it's reasonable. They make quite a few models in 36" and you might find one appealing.
I have only had one problem with it in 5 years - a bad PC board right out of the box but it's been solid ever since. I think the board was broken in shipping.
