The idea of donating it to RPOC sounds good, and is probably the right course of action for him. One of those ideas sounds a bit like insurance fraud, and we wouldn't want that now would we?

It might also be possible to sell "as is" to someone with a bit more wrenching skills. I don't know what the market for those cars is like, but I did used to work with a young guy whose dad had a similar vintage Bentley. He said (does this sound familiar?) that they aren't really that hard to work on and aren't really that expensive to keep as long as you do the work yourself.
