I changed them on my W202 not too long ago. With a lift, air tools and a screw jack to put under the lower control arm. I think the replacement time was about a half hour. Its a pretty simple job, 2 nuts hold it on, and there is a locating pin that need to be lined up, that's it! I only use the screw jack for safety purposes, but for the time you will have the ball joint out, the shock should hold the spring in place.
