"Drive gently" and "don't use it" are sometimes the same thing.
Keep rpms down, that is.
More rpms means more "miles" on the engine. Same thing as more times a tire turns the more it wears.
There has never in the history of the world been an internal combustion engine that thrived best in terms of longevity on being highly revved. None of this means lug it to excess.
