Okay my problem is the throttle adjustment is completely off. When the car is cold the idle is 700-rpm. .
I have the same engine. The idle speed is NOT controlled by the throttle linkage. Any attempt to raise the idle speed by 'tightening' the linkage (and thus opening the butterfly valve) will result in misery.

Start with the basics. Are all ignition components in a good state?

Are air and fuel filters in good order?

Is the fuel delivery 'duty cycle' adjusted correctly?

Search these forums for clues. That's what I did after undoing the throttle linkage adjustment that one bright lad tried on my car to stop it stalling.

The best to all.
