My Direct Lift 4-poster was $1950, delivered. It came with the ramps, steel tray between the ramps, plastic drip trays, and some great caster wheels. I used it recently to put a 560SEL six feet up so that I could easily get to the starter motor while standing under the car. YMMV

One thing about the Kwik-Lift is that you don't need a lot of vertical space in your garage to accommodate it.
They show up used occasionally on Craigslist and other places in the secondary market. I agree that $1300 is a lot to spend for some glorified steel ramps, but there's not much to go wrong on them, so a used set should be a reasonable option. I googled up a craigslist ad from last month offering one for $750.
