You can buy the grill, aluminum bright-work, and chrome surround separately. If you need just the bright trim strips, they are fairly reasonable. To replace just the strips, you unscrew the plastic grill insert, then slide the pieces on from the sides.

I liked the lovely patina my surround had, so I replaced just the plastic grill and trim strips this last spring.
