The lock on my 87 260E wouldn't turn last week and I havn't touch it since. I think I can get the key to turn, but I can't afford to mess around and get it to fail completely before I am able to get the lock out.

The FSM says turn the key 60 degrees to the right then push towards rear of the car.

Has anybody done this with success? As easy as it sounds or any other tips?

I just don't reallyyyy feel like drilling it out if it fails on me midway through so I want to make sure I get it right first time.
