I got 2 cracked outer weatherstrips on door windows (both driver-side) and wanted to replace them. The inner weatherstrips all appear OK, but the ones exposed to the elements are in a bad shape.

What will need to be removed to do this, and what's the best way to take off that chromed strip that sits on top of the weatherstrip? (W126).
