Well the wife's little Ford Escort ZXR2 went 193 mile and used 9.2 gallons for 21 MPG in city.
Her MB averaged 25/27 MPG depending on season.
Now that means we lost about 15% in cost of operation.
Man getting into that car from my Benz and driving the Ford is a trip. That is about the closest thing to my old '31 Ford Model A that I have ever driven for ride and noise levels, and the A I think had a better ride.
