I have a 77 300D NA car.
I have a hard time starting the car, and I know it is in need of engine work, or replacement.
When I was trying to start the car last week, I finally pushed the stop lever down and got the car to start. So the IP is overfueling the engine at start up. I assumed that this was due to the manual idle control wire being frozen so I cut the wire, then it would not run, but would start.
I then adjusted the idle up so the engine would idle. Now I am having the same starting issue as before.
So, How is the best way to set up this injection pump and cable when the new one gets here next week.
Also why does this car need this cable, where the one for the turbocharged SD doesn't.
