the engine ID should be on the left side of the block.
on the SDL, I have seen it on the L/F behind the first few injectors, but that may be the head ID numbers. what I have seen at PNP.
on the 617.952 more to the L/R side behind the injectors, but on the block.

does show what years used what engine. though is for the 124, but show what years used the 60x eng.
