I have found that I actually get more out with a "topsider" pump than by draining. For best results I pump it down while hot and remove the old filter first. It seems to accept about 0.5 quart more when I refill it, compared to draining. Is there a significant "dead spot" in the bottom of the oil pan on the 617?
