Ok, I read it. i guess I missed the "whacK' part

Update:

Roy!! You da man!!!

I redid the whole thing. Put the seals on the MC first. Positioned the reservoir nipples sideways (not directly vertical) over the seals and carefully but firmly pushed the nipples down and it popped right in. No whacking necessary.

(This time however, since I had the reservoir out - again, I cleaned it since there was black particulate residue inside. I liberally sprayed both compartments with brake cleaner until all residue was gone. Then blew it with pressurized air to fully dry).
