I have been told by the motor registry my 250td (I think its equivalent to a 300td 2.5 non turbo) is the only one in Australia. The original owner privately imported it. The motor registry went into melt down when it was first registered here. They had no listing for it. As far as they were concerned no such model exists.
All good now though. There are a few gasser 124 wagons and 190d 2.5 sedans about so no probs with parts. It is often cheaper to get bits from the USA or Europe/Middle East than local.
I am surprised that you cant get motor registry numbers on how many of any model there is.
