There is a reason lots of a 6-cylinder 124 owners upgrade to the 400 setup on their cars. Bigger brakes to begin with, vented front rotors and plenty of stopping power. And hey, they're cheaper too. Anybody who can't handle OE (performance) brake dust shouldn't own a German car. That's why they make p21s.
My friend put lo-dust pads on the rear of his Bimmer, and he is already complaining about less stopping power. Do the math. Benz engineers and a lot of things, but stupid and haphazard they aren't.
Save your money for the unexpected $1200 repairs every 6-12 months - you'll be glad you did!
