I'm really not looking forward to the 16-18mpgs at $3.25/gal (especially as compared to my 25mpg at $1.00/gal) but the ride is nice, and it seems like it would be a reliable car that would make my wife VERY happy.
So my questions are:
- is this a decent and reliable model (couldn't find any chronic complaints about it in the forums)?
- does $10K sound in the right ball park?
- am I crazy?

At this stage of my life it might be kind of fun to buy and drive a pre-owned C-Class wagon - especially if it had 4-matic (if MB even puts it in a C Class wagon). Depending on what your financial situations and goals are, would be my chief considerations were I you.
When I was in my mid-20s thirty + years ago I paid almost $11K cash for a new Chevy Corvette. It wasn't very smart to spend that much money on a fun car at the time - but you live, learn, and try to have some fun is how I see it.
This ain't the practice round.
