I suggest the Sylvania Cool Blue bulbs. I recently installed a pair in my 300E and am very satisfied. They really illuminate the road better with their whiter light. I always keep all of my cars totally original, but this is the exception--these bulbs are great. You can find them at most auto parts stores for around $15/each.
