I'll eat a crow when motor mounts make a whirring sound from the wheels on a turn. Wheel bearings can squeak, "whirr", rumble, scrape, you name the sound and they'll make it. Going around turns puts pressure on the bearings and stresses them. OP's brakes could be scraping as well.

You would notice a bad motor mount during idle when it is jerking back and forth.
