Wow, this is an amazing thread.

This is my story and why i am here. I have owned MB for over 15 years from 280E's to a 1999 E430. In between I've had 190E's, such as a 1988 2.3-16, a 300E and now a 560sel and a 560SEC. The 560SEC is my project for a M119 engine drop in.

ok, some of the guys that posted here have gone and bought the C class AMG's around 10 years ago. This thread proves that the cars are awesome and are now collectible.

I did drive a C43 before getting my 560SEL. After selling my 300se I hankered for a V8 but wasnt sure. I love the w126. I looked at a C36 but a V98 was sticking in my head. So, I drove the C43 and compared it to the C36. I thought the C36 has more zing more eager. Anyway in about 2 weeks after my tests I was still confused. A friend called me and said that there was a mint 1990 560SEL for sale and I should jump at it. I went to look at the car, drove it had it inspected and bought it, all in the same day. I love this car and use it as the family driver in the weekends.

Q. Now I am wanting to get a newer Merc to throw around as I dont want to modify the 560SEL. THe 560SEC is the widebody project..

Heres what I am considering:

C36 1995< >1996
E320 W124 Coupe
C43
E55 w210

I am leaning towards the C36 as I already have 2 V8's and I miss the 2.3-16 I had. Problem is I have a twin turbo Mosselman kit for the w124 ....
