W123's used a direct-reading gauge. W126's used an electric sender attached to the plate at the rear of the oil filter housing.

Terminals 15 & 50 on the relay connect to terminals 15 & 50 on the ignition switch. Terminal 31 on the relay goes to ground. The remaining terminal powers the indicator lamp.

Both red wires are B+. Blue wire powers the "charge" indicator light.
