Don't know about the tranny leak, but I can answer your oil question.

You DO NOT need to remove the oil from the top using a top sider as some do.

Remove encapsulation pan underneath. Mine is held on with 4 small bolts. 8mm socket gets mine out. Drain plug is on drivers side of engine towards the front. 13mm socket gets it loose. Oil filter is towards back of engine on drivers side. Wal-Mart sells a $2 spin-on/off wrench that gets the spin on filter off.

I add 6.3 qts(103 motor) during oil/filter change.
Nothing to it.
