Thanks for the replies. I'll take a look this weekend. And the rubber cover on the phone is off. Actually, when I place the phone in the holder the reception drops off completely. I figuered out that the phone turns off it's internal antenna when the carkit plug makes contact with the phone port.

It could also be an antenna for a different frequency. Here, AT&T Wireless uses the 800-900 Mhz band. Anyone know if the Hirschmann will cover this frequency?
