It is an elegant graduated airflow demand system = it only supplies/uses what it needs.
You could delete the mechanical fan, however the economy / power gain is minimal,
unless you are running pure race track.
IMO: Changing the system is not a good idea.
I am moving this to a forum that may have other opinions.
