I am not sure where your horns are mounted but on my 300E they are very close to the airconditioning heat exchanger in front of the radiator. The wires were touching the fins on the a/c unit and wore through the insulation giving the same result. I just repaired this morning and also bent the wires away from the sharp fins on the heat exchanger. Hope this helps, Jim
