Finally got around to sticking a thermometer in the vents and not surprisingly confirmed that I have pretty cold air coming out of there.
On my morning commute with the outside temp at a relatively low 83 degrees I get a frigid 34 degrees out of the center vent. Happily, in the evening with the outside temp hitting 101 I still see 40 degrees out which is still plenty cool enough to only require low fan speed to keep me quite comfortable.
Brian, my temp will rise slightly when I hit stop and go traffic but it does so slowly and frankly I wouldn't notice the difference if I didn't have the thermometer to tell me. Maybe a 2 -4 degree rise. Now, I don't typically sit in traffic for extended periods but there are a few miles of stop lights after I exit the Interstate on my ride home so it's probably not an extreme test of my system capacity.
