So 3 days ago I get a call from my dad, "Wanna go to Japan?" I told him "I used all my vacation time, I don't think it will work"
He then says "Hear me out. Tell your boss we're going to tour the assembly plants of Fiji, Toshiba, and Mitsubishi. My company is buying a new steam turbine."
Well he was right. As engineers we all nerd out about the same things, and getting to see turbines assembled in Japan is not something you turn down!
I'll be there for 2 weeks and not only get to see the factories, but get to visit the exchange student that lived with us when I was about 6. some of my first memories are of her, and I haven't seen her in real life since then.
